Privacy in plain language
GOkaven is designed to work without an account. Your moving plan is currently created and stored in your own browser, and GOkaven does not receive the planner information you enter. Google Analytics remains off unless you choose to accept it.
Information stored by the planner
Depending on what you choose to enter, the planner may store the following information locally:
- Move date, origin and destination countries, move type and moving method.
- Home type, rental or ownership status, number of bedrooms and household size.
- Choices about children, pets, storage and vehicle transport.
- Checklist progress, custom tasks and notes.
- Box labels, rooms, contents, notes, fragile status and packing status.
- Budget categories, descriptions, planned amounts, actual amounts and notes.
- Your analytics consent preference, so GOkaven remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics on that browser.
Where your plan stays
Planner data is stored through localStorage in the browser and device you use. GOkaven currently has no user-account database or backend that stores a copy of your plan.
Clearing browser data, using private-browsing modes, changing browsers or devices, or removing site storage may delete your plan. Because GOkaven does not receive a copy, we cannot recover a plan that has been deleted from your browser.
Backups and exports
JSON backups, CSV exports, printable plans and box labels are generated locally in your browser. Creating these files does not send your planner data to GOkaven. You decide where to save them and are responsible for keeping them secure.
Analytics and your choice
GOkaven uses Google Analytics only if you select Accept analytics. It helps us understand website traffic, how the product is used and how visitors interact with its pages. Google Analytics is not loaded before you accept.
You can select Reject analytics and continue using every GOkaven feature. You can also change your decision later through Cookie settings in the footer. The Google Consent Mode setting for analytics_storage starts as denied, changes to granted after acceptance and remains denied after rejection.
Vercel Web Analytics is used separately for aggregate website statistics and does not use cookies. Your Google Analytics preference does not change that existing integration. See the Cookie Policy for more detail.
What GOkaven does not do
- No accounts or login.
- No advertising tracking or Google Ads.
- No advertising storage or advertising personalization.
- No advertising.
- No payment processing.
- No sale of personal data.
- No server-side storage of moving plans.
When you contact us
If you contact GOkaven by email, we receive the email address, message and any other information you voluntarily include. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not necessary for your question or feedback.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as GOkaven evolves. If accounts, payments or other external services are introduced, or our analytics practices change, this page will be updated to explain what changes, what information is involved and what choices are available.
