Gather supplies and create one labeling system
Use sturdy boxes in manageable sizes, strong packing tape, cushioning, markers and bags for hardware. Before filling the first box, choose a simple system: give every box a number, destination room and short contents description.
Record the same information in GOkaven’s Packing area. You can create, edit and delete boxes, assign rooms and update their status, making it easier to locate an item or see what remains unpacked.
Label for the destination
Use the room where the box should be unloaded, not only where its contents came from. Add a visible fragile or open-first note where appropriate.
Keep boxes liftable
Put heavy items in small boxes and lighter items in large ones. Fill gaps so contents do not shift, without making the box too heavy to carry safely.
